Manchurian Air Defense Association was established in March 1934 with the aim of enhancing all air defense facilities and spreading air defense knowledge.
It will be integrated into Manchurian Air Affairs Association in August 1939.
Therefore all badges of Manchukuo Air Defense Association belong to the very narrow time period 1934-1939.

1940 Gliding Tournament Commemorative Watch Fob.

Obviously the design of special member badge is used.
Only standard reverse inscription and suspension are missing.

Original case.

 

Manchurian Air Affairs Association was stablished in the Hsinking Memorial Public Hall/新京記念公会堂 in August 1939.

At the time of the establishment position of association chairman was vacant and Lieutenant-General Yasujirō Satake/佐竹保治郎 (ex director-general of Army Fortification Department) became vice chairman of the association. The Manchurian Air Affairs Association was established to unify two existing associations:

- Manchurian Air Defense Association which was established in March 1934;
- Manchurian Aviation Association https://asiamedals.info/threads/badges-of-manchukuo-aviation-association.23115/ which was established in September 1936 with the the purpose of academic research on aviation, dissemination of knowledge about aviation and training of glider pilots.

The newly formed association activities include hosting the annual All-Manchurian Gliding Tournament at Hsinking West Airfield/新京西飛行場 and publishing the Manchurian Air Affairs Yearbook/満洲空務年鑑 and National Air Defense Journal/国民防空.​
