Order of the White Eagle with Diamonds awarded in 1913 to General Albert d'Amade

Superb and very rare set. Order of White Eagle with diamonds was awarded only 22 times and only seven times for Christian. The remaining fifteen recipients were non-Christians https://asiamedals.info/threads/order-of-the-white-eagle-with-diamonds-for-non-christians.26640/. Only two French generals received this high award, including General Albert d'Amade, August 13, 1913. In fact, he is the last one to receive Order of the White Eagle with diamonds. World War I interrupted the presentation of this award, although two sets were already prepared in advance.​


Set was made by famous jeweler Karl Karlovich Blank /Карл Карлович Бланк/ at a price 3500 rubles.

On August 3, 1913 France send to Russia an important military mission. Led by General Joffre, Chief of Staff general, this mission includes 6 generals and many senior officers. Particularly well received by Nicholas II who attaches great importance to the alliance with France, the French were decorated with Russian Imperial orders. D'Amade, who was considered one of the rising stars of the French army, was awarded the order of the White Eagle with diamonds while Joffre received Saint Alexander Nevsky order.​
